Holistic Massage

Massage involves working the soft tissue of the body, to ease day-to-day stresses and muscular tension, and promote relaxation Through pressure and manipulation massage starts to separate the fibres and untangle the knot, thus allowing fluids to move in and waste to move out .

It helps to increase delivery of blood and oxygen to the treated areas and can also be used in support of other therapies to assist in the rehabilitation of muscular injuries. It is based on traditional Swedish massage but also incorporates a wide range of other techniques such as deep tissue, manual stretching and lymphatic drainage.

Swedish Massage

The most popular type of massage in the west . It involves the use of hands , forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of muscles and connective tissue to improve muscle suppleness and blood and lymph circulation decrease muscle tension improve range of motion and can help To reduce stress and help aid a better nights sleep

Swedish massage is the best-known and most popular type of massage therapy on which many other massage techniques are based.

Swedish massage therapy involves mild, moderate or deeper strokes on the back, arms, legs, neck and other body parts to target tissues and muscles for maximal pain relief, stress release and relaxation.

It also helps promote healing while targeting pain, injuries, stress and stiffness using gliding, kneading, tapping, friction and light shaking designed to ease back pain and help relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles. It is used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the strokes are the same as those used in classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

Bellabaci Cupping

Bellabaci cupping is a modified, simplified version of the Ancient Chinese Cupping method. It utilises the silicon hand squeezed vacuum cups to create negative pressure on the surface of the skin, this stimulates the circulation and lymphatic system to drain excess fluids and lactic acid build up in the muscles

Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues.

Pregnancy & Postnatal Massage

Pregnancy massage for mums to be. An individual treatment tailored to your needs, I recommend a minimum appointment time of 45 minutes to allow a little extra time to ensure a comfortable and relaxing treatment.

Indian Head Massge

Indian head massage is based on the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. a technique that helps stimulate circulation and relieve tension in the head, neck, and shoulders

Some Things To Consider Are

– Wrap up warm you may feel cold
– Take care when driving home your reflexes may be slower
– Do not do any vigorous exercise just before or after the massage
– Do not eat a heavy meal for at least 4-6 hours, massage stimulates the digestive system
– Cupping can be an energizing/ heating treatment do not take a hot shower/bath before or after and do not exfoliate before a treatment

It is very important to rest and relax as much as possible afterwards.
Due to the release of the build-up of toxins caught in the muscles and tissues you may feel some mild after effects such as; headache, nausea, thirst, a sore throat, runny nose, tiredness, stiffness, aching muscles and you may need to pass water more.

These symptoms are often short lived and you will feel a greater sense of well-being afterwards. Drinking plenty of water or even herbal teas will help flush out any toxins released by your treatment, this will help reduce any side effects, making the treatment more beneficial.
